Promise MCC is a dynamic, Spirit-led, Christian Church. Promise MCC began on May 18, 1997, under the leadership of its founding Pastor, Rev. Jon Haack. Promise MCC is located in northern Oak Cliff, a sector of the city of Dallas, Texas. Promise MCC welcomes everyone in a spirit of Christ--we are one in Christ Jesus. We have a primary outreach to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender communities.
We are part of the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches (UFMCC) a world-wide Christian denomination founded in 1968 by the Rev. Elder Troy Perry. With nearly 300 Metropolitan Community Churches throughout the world, there is one near you. If you are not in the Dallas area, find an MCC near you by visiting the UFMCC website at
On the UFMCC site you will also find information on our beliefs about being gay and Christian. For now, here is a brief version.
The gospel of John (John 3:16-17) tells us, "For God so loved the world, that God gave us the only-begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Jesus may not perish but may have eternal life. Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him." Notice there are no footnotes, no exceptions, no exclusions--whoever believes in Jesus has eternal life and is born again. In short, whatever your sexual orientation, if you believe in Jesus, you are a Christian, and have received eternal life. |

The Battle Is Being Waged We are in a battle for the hearts, minds, lives and souls of our community. Too many would try to defeat us. Too many in the world would condemn and judge.
Too often, those who are defeated in condemnation turn to poor choices in life: unsafe and irresponsible sex, drug and alcohol abuse, and other issues. These result in broken lives, broken relationships, and a turning away from the true and loving God that has not been shown to those who need God most! |
