Promise Institute for Better Living We grow in the Spirit when we study and learn together. PIBL is our Christian Education Department. From mid-week Bible Study to Sunday School for all ages, to planned classes for the community on Monday evenings, this will help equip us all for living an abundant life. The adult Sunday School meets at 9:00am. In the future, as the need develops, we may also offer classes for youth and/or children. Cell Groups Currently, there are four cell groups active in the Church. These small groups study the Bible and pray with one another, either at the church or in members’ homes. Music Voices in Praise Our Church choir regularly puts on Easter and Christmas cantatas, and enhances worship with spirit-soaring melodies. Some of the music the VIP sings is new, introducing the Church to new songs and melodies. The VIP also sings familiar songs that the congregation already knows; but VIP adds a new and inspiring blend of voices in wonderful harmonies that open our eyes to the beauty of these songs the way they did when we heard them for the first time. Praise & Worship Team The Team leads the Church in songs of praise during worship--to invite the congregation into a time of praise through their upbeat additions to worship. With that praise, the congregation invites God's presence in the sanctuary! Service ministries Pride Institute Outreach The Church reaches out to GLBT patients who are seeking treatment for alcohol, drug dependencies, and psychological help at the Pride Institute in Arlington, Texas. Promise MCC cooperates with other churches to provide spiritual programming for those in the residential facility, receiving needed treatment. AIDS Services of Dallas Supper Club Members of the Church go to Ewing House once per month to bring dinner and friendship to AIDS Services of Dallas residents. This blesses the residents who enjoy a hot, healthy meal, as well as to the members who bring it. Oak Cliff Churches for Emergency Aid Promise MCC is a sponsoring church to the Oak Cliff Churches for Emergency Aid. This agency operates a food pantry and receives contributions of food items, personal items, and/or cash to meet the needs of the needy in the greater Oak Cliff area. |
